Basketball Recap: Greenville's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Greenville had won two straight games and Ava Owens did her part to make it three on Thursday. The Greenville Red Raiders came within a single point of losing the streak, but they secured a 54-53 W against the T.L. Hanna Yellow Jackets thanks to Owens, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 17 boards. She also grabbed five steals, which is notable because Greenville is 7-3 when she posts at least five steals, but 4-6 otherwise.

Hailee Wilson-Drawhorn was another key player, putting up nine points. That's the most points she has posted since back in November of 2024.

Several Yellow Jackets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Harmoni Earl, who went 6-for-13 to rack up 17 points and eight rebounds. Earl has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Olivia Wallach, who went 5-for-7 on her way to 16 points.

Greenville pushed their record up to 11-9 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.7 points over those games. As for T.L. Hanna, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 9-7 record this season.

Greenville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 50-42 win against Easley on the 31st. As for T.L. Hanna, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 51-40 loss against Greenwood on the 31st.
