Basketball Game Preview: Sumner Academy Sabres vs. Wyandotte Bulldogs

The Sumner Academy Sabres will challenge the Wyandotte Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Sumner Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 68-25 victory over Washington. The Sabres have beaten the Wildcats the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Wildcats has come to flipping the script.

Meanwhile, Wyandotte really took it to Schlagle for the full four quarters, racking up a 66-37 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.

Sumner Academy better keep an eye on Germya Sanford. She was instrumental in Wyandotte's win, going 12-for-20 to rack up 24 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. That's the most boards Sanford has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Promise Burton, who went 6-for-14 en route to 16 points in addition to seven rebounds and six steals.

Sumner Academy now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Wyandotte, they pushed their record up to 9-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.
