While Mountain Ridge's victory against Liberty wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Mountain Lions skirted past the Lions 2-1. The Mountain Lions haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Gianna Torres spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Mountain Ridge's victory was truly a team effort as two different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ainsley Cottrell, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Mountain Ridge's win bumped their record up to 14-5. As for Liberty, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11-1 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mountain Ridge will square off against Queen Creek at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Liberty, they will challenge O'Connor at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
