Basketball Recap: Chugiak Takes a Loss

Chugiak was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were beaten by the Bettye Davis East Anchorage Thunderbirds 77-40. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alaska basketball rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while the Thunderbirds are ranked first).

Chugiak's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Bettye Davis East Anchorage, their victory was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-1.

When Chugiak and Bettye Davis East Anchorage next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Chugiak will face off against Dimond and their four-game winning streak at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, Bettye Davis East Anchorage will try to stop West Valley's six-game winning streak when the meet at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
