Recap: Valley Vikings vs. Weld Central Rebels

The Valley Vikings can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They walked away with a 38-26 win over Weld Central. The victory was just what Valley needed coming off of a 61-28 loss in their prior contest.

Peyton Savolt was the offensive standout of the match as she scored 24 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Nevaeh Jimenez was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with 13 rebounds.

The win got Valley back to even at 6-6. As for Weld Central, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.

Valley will be playing in front of their home fans against University at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Hopefully University focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Thursday. As for Weld Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Eaton at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Eaton presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Weld Central in Colorado (Eaton is ranked 95th, while Weld Central is ranked 222nd).
