Recap: Niceville Eagles vs. Rocky Bayou Christian Knights
The Niceville Eagles gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They walked away with a 58-50 victory over Rocky Bayou Christian. That's another feather in the cap for Niceville, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Niceville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Fred Libby, who scored 17 points along with 8 assists and 4 steals. Another player making a difference was Anwar Conley, who scored 16 points along with 5 rebounds and 5 steals.
Despite the defeat, Rocky Bayou Christian had strong showings from Devin Hicks, who scored 19 points along with 3 steals, and Calix Mccune, who scored 13 points. Hicks scored a full 38% of Rocky Bayou Christian's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. McCabe Olin was another key contributor, scoring 7 points.
Niceville's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Rocky Bayou Christian, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Niceville will head out on the road to face off against Rutherford at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Rocky Bayou Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Pensacola Catholic at 6:45 p.m.
