Boca Ciega proved they can win big last Monday (they won by 34) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by the Pinellas Park Patriots 13-12. For the Pirates, this counts as revenge for the 6-2 win the Patriots walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Boca Ciega found their leader in sophomore Adrianna Hitchcock, who rushed for 70 yards on only six carries, and also threw for 100 yards and one TD while completing 71.4% of her passes. Hitchcock also deserves a shoutout for her performance on D, making three total tackles (2.0 for loss) and defending three passes.

Boca Ciega didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Pinellas Park to a completion percentage of just 20%. The team can thank Hitchcock for the heroic effort on defense: he rushed for 70 yards on only six carries, and also threw for 100 yards and one touchdown while completing 71.4% of her passes. Boca Ciega wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 60.9%.

Boca Ciega's defense didn't let Calliegh Beliveau., get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for four sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Aubb'Rie Scott and Kianna Chambers, who racked up all four sacks between them. Boca Ciega is 4-1 when Chambers posts one or more sacks, but 1-4 otherwise.

The victory got Boca Ciega back to even at 5-5. As for Pinellas Park, they dropped their record down to 4-7 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Boca Ciega wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 26-0 win against Largo on the 3rd. As for Pinellas Park, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 18-12 defeat against Northeast on the 3rd.
