Basketball Game Preview: Tyler Legacy Raiders vs. Longview Lobos

Tyler Legacy hasn't had much luck against Longview recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Tyler Legacy Raiders are taking a road trip to square off against the Longview Lobos at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in Tyler Legacy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six matches.

Last Tuesday, Tyler Legacy strolled past Royse City with points to spare, taking the game 70-54. Given the Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 161st, while the Bulldogs are ranked 330th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Ja'Corian Oes was his usual excellent self, going 8 of 10 en route to 19 points. His evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Jones, who went 5 for 8 on his way to 15 points and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, Longview was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 47-42 to Forney. The Lobos have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Tyler Legacy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 17-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.1 points per game. As for Longview, their loss dropped their record down to 14-10.

Tyler Legacy took their victory against Longview in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 by a conclusive 74-54. The rematch might be a little tougher for Tyler Legacy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
