Baseball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Stewarts Creek

Stewarts Creek came tearing into Sunday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 5-1 win over the Wilson Central Wildcats. Surprisingly, this marked the Red Hawks' third straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Jeff Moran tossed a big game, pitching 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April.

At the plate, Ben Bryant was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and one double. Shawn Rhodes was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Stewarts Creek's victory bumped their record up to 22-15. As for Wilson Central, they moved to 15-9 with that defeat, which also ended their seven-game winning streak.

Wilson Central has already played their next game, a 5-3 win against Cookeville on the 5th. Hopefully Stewarts Creek paid attention to the Wildcats' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
