Soccer Recap: Hayesville Comes Up Short

After flying high against Blue Ridge Early College on Monday, Hayesville came back down to earth. The Yellowjackets lost 10-1 to the Highlands Highlanders on Wednesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Highlands this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-1 back in March.

Hayesville's goal came courtesy of Reese Segars, who's now up to eight this season.

Hayesville has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-9-1 record this season. As for Highlands, the win got them back to even at 6-6.

Hayesville wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next contest, an 8-0 loss against Swain County on the 5th. As for Highlands, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next game, a 5-1 victory against Tri-County on the 1st.
