Baseball Recap: Poca's Luck Changes for the Better on Monday

Poca had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They were the clear victors by a 15-5 margin over the Hannan Wildcats on Monday. Considering the Dots' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

The team relied heavily on Colton Dunbar, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Daniel Burns also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Poca was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hannan only posted a batting average of .304.

Poca's win bumped their record up to 3-13. As for Hannan, they dropped their record down to 1-10 with the defeat, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Poca will venture away from home to challenge Teays Valley Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hannan, they will welcome Buffalo at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
