Basketball Game Preview: Slinger Owls vs. Port Washington Pirates

The Slinger Owls will venture away from home to square off against the Port Washington Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Slinger will be looking to extend their current 12-game winning streak.

Last Thursday, Slinger blew past Hartford, posting an 88-51 win. The Owls have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 22 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Port Washington didn't have too much trouble with West Bend East on Thursday as they won 78-62. While fans of the Pirates might be used to big wins, the 16-point margin marked the team's biggest one yet.

Slinger pushed their record up to 12-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 81.5 points per game. As for Port Washington, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-8.

Slinger took their victory against Port Washington when the teams last played back in December of 2024 by a conclusive 77-53. The rematch might be a little tougher for Slinger since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
