Baseball Game Preview: Westgate Tigers vs. Franklin Hornets

The Westgate Tigers are taking a road trip to square off against the Franklin Hornets at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Westgate has given up an average of 11.3 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Westgate is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Monday. They came up short against Highland Baptist Christian, falling 12-2.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Franklin, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They never let V.B. Glencoe Charter get on the board and left with a 15-0 win on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Hornets, who have now won eight contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Franklin's victory bumped their record up to 14-8. As for Westgate, their loss dropped their record down to 3-16.

Westgate suffered a grim 9-0 defeat to Franklin when the teams last played back in March. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
