Basketball Recap: Tucumcari Comes Up Short

Tucumcari was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost to the Santa Rosa Lions at home by a 73-58 margin. While losing is never fun, the Rattlers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico basketball rankings (they are ranked 88th, while the Lions are ranked 21st).

Tucumcari's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Santa Rosa, the victory (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 15-3.

Tucumcari has already played their next match (against Fort Sumner/House), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Santa Rosa Lions challenge the Pecos Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
