Volleyball Recap: Nordhoff Comes Up Short

Nordhoff was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Hueneme Vikings. The Rangers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Vikings earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

Nordhoff actually scored more points across those five sets (102-96), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-18, 11-25, 19-25, 16-14.

Nordhoff's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Hueneme, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Nordhoff will welcome Fillmore at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hueneme, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Channel Islands at 6:00 p.m. Hueneme is facing Channel Islands at the right time seeing as Channel Islands is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
