Baseball Game Preview: Victory Christian Conquerors vs. Checotah Wildcats

For the second straight game, Victory Christian will face off against Checotah. Victory Christian will be playing at home against Checotah at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

On Monday, Victory Christian needed a bit of extra time to put away Checotah. They skirted past the Wildcats 5-3. The Conquerors haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Bandit Thomas tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Victory Christian's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Cash Veitch, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Another was Journey Boswell, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Victory Christian's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Checotah, they dropped their record down to 3-12 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Victory Christian hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Checotah struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.4 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
