Steele Canyon entered their tilt with Granite Hills on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 26-13 win over the Eagles. This was a revenge game for the Cougars: when they faced off against the Eagles back in September, they had to take a 19-7 loss.
Steele Canyon found their leader in sophomore Sophia Jackel, who threw for 259 yards and three TDs while completing 76.5% of her passes. Kaliani Ewing was Jackel's top target, picking up 31 receiving yards and one score, while also punching in one touchdown on the ground.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Steele Canyon's defense and their five sacks. Leading the way was Joelle Frazier with four.
Steele Canyon's record is now 15-4. As for Granite Hills, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-4.
