Baseball Recap: Jamestown Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Rocky Grove, Jamestown was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They walked away with a 5-1 win over the Iroquois Braves.

Connor Pressler made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over 6.2 innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Nolan Herbold was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Chance Jancsar also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Jamestown's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-17. As for Iroquois, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.

Jamestown does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Iroquois, they will venture away from home to take on Northwestern at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
