Baseball Recap: Indian Creek Triumphs

Indian Creek owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Monday. They walked away with a 5-0 win over the Martins Ferry Purple Riders. The victory continues a trend for the Redskins in their matchups with the Purple Riders: they've now won five in a row.

The result came thanks to Sylus Hyde's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up nine Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Indian Creek got a big performance out of Hunter Rusnak, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Ty Householder was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run.

Indian Creek's win bumped their record up to 14-3. As for Martins Ferry, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-8.

Coming up, Martins Ferry will head out to square off against East Liverpool at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Indian Creek will be paying especially close attention to the Purple Riders' contest: after the Purple Riders face off against the Potters, they'll take on Indian Creek again at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
