Football Recap: Guilderland Flying Dutchmen vs. Shenendehowa Plainsmen
If Guilderland was riding high fresh off their 47-7 takedown of Columbia last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Flying Dutchmen and the Shenendehowa Plainsmen were almost perfectly matched up on Friday, but the Flying Dutchmen suffered a 21-20 defeat. While losing is never fun, the Flying Dutchmen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 123rd, while the Plainsmen are ranked 18th).
Shenendehowa's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Carter Toth, who rushed for 77 yards and one touchdown on only seven carries. Jakub Tomaszewski also helped out with an impressive 91 receiving yards.
Having lost for the first time this season, Guilderland fell to 2-1. As for Shenendehowa, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
