Baseball Recap: Bolton Central Finds Playoff Glory Versus Boquet Valley

With a playoff win on the line, Bolton Central rose to the challenge on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Boquet Valley Griffins as they made off with a 13-2 victory. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Griffins recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Sullivan Eager made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Bolton Central is 6-2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-5 otherwise. Eager was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on William Hens, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024. Abram Figueroa was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Bolton Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Bolton Central's victory bumped their record up to 10-7-1. As for Boquet Valley, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Looking ahead, Bolton Central will square off against Lake Placid at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Boquet Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
