Gordon-Rushville posted their closest win since September 27th on Saturday. They won by a set and slipped past the Hemingford Bobcats 2-1. This was a revenge game for the Mustangs: when they faced off against the Bobcats back in August, they had to take a 2-0 loss.

Gordon-Rushville's offense was headlined by Reese Simonson and Kirsten Heck, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Mikaylee Campbell and her 16 assists. She also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Madyson DeHart-Harris, each putting up three.

Despite the defeat, Hemingford saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jade Sorensen had 12 assists and seven digs.

Gordon-Rushville's victory bumped their record up to 10-16. As for Hemingford, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-12 record this season.

Gordon-Rushville has already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Cozad on the 11th. As for Hemingford, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Valentine on the 11th.
