Basketball Game Preview: Swansboro Pirates vs. Orange Panthers

The Swansboro Pirates will venture away from home to challenge the Orange Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Swansboro will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Swansboro is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing West Carteret: they outscored them in every quarter. Swansboro took down West Carteret 37-20 on Saturday.

Swansboro found their leader in sophomore Addison King, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds. King has been hot, having also posted three or more steals the last seven times she's played. Another player making a difference was Brooke Brady, who posted four points and nine boards.

Swansboro smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds every time they've taken the court this season.

Meanwhile, Orange played a tough matchup on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 76-38 loss at the hands of Western Alamance. The Panthers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-17.

Swansboro pushed their record up to 14-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 22.5 points over those games. As for Orange, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-9.
