Football Game Preview: Cosumnes Oaks Wolfpack vs. Pleasant Grove Eagles + How To Watch

The Cosumnes Oaks Wolfpack will head out on the road to face off against the Pleasant Grove Eagles at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Pleasant Grove took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Cosumnes Oaks, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Cosumnes Oaks turned things around against Sheldon on Friday. They took down the Huskies 34-16. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Pleasant Grove had taken Franklin down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Friday. The Eagles fell 39-34 to the Wildcats. The Eagles were up 14-0 in the first quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Cosumnes Oaks will need to focus on slowing down Robert Wainaina, one of several Pleasant Grove players who made an impact when they last played. He rushed for 131 yards and one TD on only nine carries, and also picked up 40 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Hekili Hernandez, who rushed for 124 yards and two scores.

Even if they lost, Pleasant Grove's defensive line still kept up the pressure with five sacks. In that department, Rafael Villanueva was the leader with two.

This is the second loss in a row for Pleasant Grove and nudges their season record down to 4-3. As for Cosumnes Oaks, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-5.

Cosumnes Oaks might still be hurting after the 24-0 defeat they got from Pleasant Grove in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Wolfpack avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
