Soccer Game Preview: Milton vs. Rice Memorial

The Milton Yellowjackets will venture away from home to square off against the Rice Memorial Green Knights at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Milton is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Lake Region a 2-0 shutout. That's two games straight that Milton have won by exactly two goals.

Something new happened on Wednesday as Savannah Monahan saw her first action of the season, playing 80 minutes against Lake Region. Monahan made the most of the opportunity, scoring two goals A few more games like that and she might be seeing even more time going forward.

Meanwhile, Rice Memorial faced Burr & Burton in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Green Knights sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Bulldogs. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Rice Memorial.
