Basketball Game Preview: Silver Stage Nighthawks vs. Yerington Lions

Silver Stage is 0-10 against Yerington since January of 2020 but things could change on Friday. The Silver Stage Nighthawks will venture away from home to take on the Yerington Lions at 6:00 p.m.

Silver Stage is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 14th straight game on Saturday. They were dealt a 53-20 loss at the hands of West Wendover.

Silver Stage's defeat came about despite a quality game from Erika Victorio, who went 5 of 12 en route to 12 points and three blocks. That was a full 60% of Silver Stage's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Dakota Little, who scored three points and four blocks.

Meanwhile, Yerington had already won 11 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.9 points) and they went ahead and made it 12 on Tuesday. They breezed by the Falcons to the tune of 57-17. 57 seems to be a good number for the Lions as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

Yerington is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season. As for Silver Stage, their loss dropped their record down to 2-17.

Silver Stage was taken down by Yerington 49-13 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can Silver Stage avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
