Recap: Will Rogers College Ropers vs. Memorial Chargers
The Will Rogers College Ropers struggled with assists on Saturday (the Memorial Chargers had 15 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Will Rogers College took a 58-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Memorial. While losing is never fun, Will Rogers College can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 236th, while Memorial is ranked 61st).
Several Ropers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Shon King, who scored 12 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Terence Buckley, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Jalil Cotton continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Memorial, scoring 20 points along with nine rebounds. Fabian Harris was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Will Rogers College and nudges their season record down to 5-10. As for Memorial, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Will Rogers College and Edison will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Edison has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 268 points over their last four games. As for Memorial, Memorial and Holland Hall will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
