Volleyball Recap: Floresville's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Eight

Floresville waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Carrizo Springs Wildcats. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in September.

Floresville's got stronger as the match went on, holding Carrizo Springs to fewer and fewer points set over set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-13, 25-10.

Emily Hutchinson paced Floresville's offense, picking up 14 kills. Hutchinson got some help from Lailah Fuentes and her 20 assists. Lyla Smith and Makenna Hertless kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Floresville's win bumped their record up to 30-13. As for Carrizo Springs, their defeat ended a four-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-14.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Floresville will face off against rival Pleasanton at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Carrizo Springs is set to square off against their familiar foe Uvalde at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
