Softball Game Preview: Bishop Carroll Huskies vs. Bald Eagle Area Eagles

The Bishop Carroll Huskies will head out to challenge the Bald Eagle Area Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bishop Carroll is looking for their season's first win.

Bishop Carroll came up short against Bishop McCort on Monday, falling 21-1.

Bishop Carroll saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hannah Strittmatter, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Bald Eagle Area owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Monday. They put the hurt on Clearfield with a sharp 7-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Bison: they've now won four in a row.

Not much got past Sierra Albright, who gave up just two hits and racked up 11 Ks to keep Clearfield off the board. Albright has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Alexa Baney, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Kailey Eckert was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Bald Eagle Area was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .310 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Bald Eagle Area's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games. As for Bishop Carroll, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.
