The Murray Tigers will challenge the Union County Braves at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Murray is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came out on top against Mayfield by a score of 9-5 two weeks ago. The victory continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Cardinals: they've now won four in a row.

Shia McNutt made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up four earned runs off only two hits. Those 11 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that she hit this season.
In other batting news, Jenna Stone was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Maylen Darnell, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Murray was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Union County posted their closest win since March 21st on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Russell County 5-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Braves.
Daylee Shelton looked comfortable as she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Aspen Davis, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Ashlynn Hargrove, who went 3-for-4 with one double.
Union County now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Murray, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-7.
