Basketball Game Preview: Celina Bobcats vs. Kennedale Wildcats

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Bobcats challenge the Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Celina is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They came out on top against Ranchview by a score of 45-36. The win continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Wolves: they've now won four in a row.

Meanwhile, Kennedale had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 40 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 59-21 victory over the Cowboys. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 389th, while the Cowboys are ranked 980th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Kennedale's win bumped their record up to 17-15. As for Celina, they now have a winning record of 15-14.

Celina might still be hurting after the 59-34 loss they got from Kennedale when the teams last played back in February of 2022. Can Celina avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
