Softball Recap: Clear Springs Drops Season-High Score on Clear Brook

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Clear Springs). Everything went their way against the Clear Brook Wolverines on Tuesday as the Clear Springs Chargers made off with a 19-7 victory. Considering the Chargers have won four games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Erianna Garcia was a standout: she went 4-for-6 with one home run, six RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Alana Strever also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.

Clear Springs was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .375 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Clear Springs pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 7.5 runs. As for Clear Brook, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-6.

Looking ahead, Clear Springs will welcome Clear Lake at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Clear Brook, they are taking a road trip to challenge Dickinson at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Clear Brook has given up an average of 12.6 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
