Baseball Game Preview: Annapolis Cougars vs. Robichaud Bulldogs

For the second straight game, Annapolis will face off against Robichaud. The Cougars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Annapolis is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Robichaud get on the board and left with a 22-0 victory on Monday. The win continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won five in a row.

Robert Armstrong made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). He has become a key player for Annapolis: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most one hit, but 3-6 otherwise. Armstrong was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run and six RBI. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kevin Franco, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and three RBI. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Gael Martinez was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Annapolis' victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Robichaud, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.
