Football Game Preview: Purcell Dragons vs. Star-Spencer Bobcats

The Purcell Dragons will head out to take on the Star-Spencer Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Purcell is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.

On Thursday, Purcell was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 25-20 to North Rock Creek.

Meanwhile, Star-Spencer took a blow against Kingfisher on Friday, falling 42-6. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma football rankings (they are ranked 216th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 56th).

Star-Spencer's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Purcell, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-6.

Everything came up roses for Purcell against Star-Spencer in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 55-26 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Dragons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
