Baseball Recap: Serena Takes a Loss

Serena was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Somonauk Bobcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Huskers of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Serena saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Beau Raikes, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Serena's defeat dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Somonauk, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season.

While Serena had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
