Baseball Recap: Carlisle Wins Going Away Against Winterset

Carlisle lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Winterset, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Monday's match. The Wildcats were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over the Huskies on Monday. While the Wildcats didn't have the best season last year (they finished 13-23), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Carlisle has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Winterset, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Carlisle beat the Huskies by a score of 18-1 later that day.
