Baseball Recap: Trinity's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Trinity came into Monday's matchup having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. Everything went their way against the Casey County Rebels on Monday as Trinity made off with a 16-4 victory. The contest marked the Raiders' most dominant win of the season so far.

Rylan Cecil made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. He has become a key player for Trinity: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 1-5 otherwise. Cecil was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Connor Hatfield, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as he's now brought in three or more in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Harrison Barnett, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Trinity's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Casey County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.

Trinity will challenge Carlisle at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday. As for Casey County, they will head out on the road to face off against Ridgewood at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
