Grosse Pointe South never let their opponents score on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 9-0 margin over the Melvindale Cardinals. Considering the Blue Devils have won 12 matchups by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Grosse Pointe South has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Melvindale, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-8.

Looking ahead, Grosse Pointe South will take on Marine City at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Melvindale, they will face off against Romulus at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
