Mason Daley made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and four unearned) runs off 13 hits. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Evan Albert was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Kody Lesser was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Drury came out on top against Southwick Regional on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run sixth inning. The Blue Devils put the hurt on the Rams with a sharp 11-5 win. The Blue Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by six runs or more this season.
Like Lenox Memorial, Drury also got a great game from a two-way player: Lucas Hamilton. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). Hamilton was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Drury let Connor Hinkell and Carson Rylander run wild. Hinkell got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Rylander went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Hinkell has become a key player for Drury: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Julian Feliciano, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Lenox Memorial now has a winning record of 4-3-1. As for Drury, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Lenox Memorial has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Drury struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Lenox Memorial suffered a grim 12-2 defeat to Drury in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Will the Millionaires have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
