Soccer Game Preview: Florence vs. ALA - Ironwood

Florence hasn't had much luck against ALA - Ironwood recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Florence Gophers will venture away from home to face off against the ALA - Ironwood Warriors at 6:00 p.m. Both are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Florence's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Apache Junction with a sharp 4-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Gophers.

Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, ALA - Ironwood brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They blew past Globe 11-0 on Tuesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Warriors as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

ALA - Ironwood's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Florence, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-7.

Florence came up short against ALA - Ironwood when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 5-3. Can Florence avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
