Baseball Game Preview: Kearny Komets vs. Sweetwater Red Devils

The Kearny Komets will face off against the Sweetwater Red Devils at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Things were looking good for Kearny after they put the first points on the board on Tuesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mar Vista. The Komets have struggled against the Mariners recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Ansel Eaton made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024.

Meanwhile, the third road contest was the charm for Sweetwater, as they earned their first away win of the season. They blew past Hoover 16-1 on Tuesday. That 15 run margin sets a new team best for the Red Devils this season.

Kearny's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Sweetwater, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-3.

Kearny skirted past Sweetwater 1-0 in their previous meeting back in March of 2023. Will Kearny repeat their success, or does Sweetwater has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
