Basketball Recap: Sycamore Comes Up Short

Sycamore was the 58-43 winner over Yorkville when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Sycamore Spartans took a hard 66-47 fall against the Yorkville Foxes on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 315th, while the Foxes are ranked 100th).

Sycamore has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-16 record this season. As for Yorkville, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-7.

Sycamore has already played their next game (against DeKalb), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Yorkville will venture away from home to face off against Joliet Central at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
