Basketball Recap: Connelly School of the Holy Child Comes Up Short

Connelly School of the Holy Child was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were outmatched by the Sidwell Friends Quakers and fell 67-23. Connelly School of the Holy Child was not able to make up for their defeat to Sidwell Friends from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Sidwell Friends' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Autumn Fleary, who went 7 for 15 en route to 18 points in addition to six assists and six rebounds. That's the most points Fleary has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Genesis Schneeberg, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 boards.

Connelly School of the Holy Child's loss dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Sidwell Friends, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 17-2.

Connelly School of the Holy Child wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, an 82-51 defeat against Potomac School on the 4th. As for Sidwell Friends, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 65-27 win against Georgetown Day on the 4th.
