Volleyball Recap: Whitehall Zephyrs vs. Allentown Central Catholic Vikings
Whitehall was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Allentown Central Catholic Vikings, falling 3-0. If the Zephyrs were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Vikings when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Whitehall was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Allentown Central Catholic work for it, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 26-24, 25-11.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Allentown Central Catholic to victory, but perhaps none more so than Briana Bauer, who had 17 digs and four aces. Bauer is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 15 or more in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mary Psarros, who had 18 digs.
Whitehall's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Allentown Central Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 9-2-1.
We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Whitehall is set to face off against their familiar foe Emmaus at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Allentown Central Catholic will square off against rival Louis E. Dieruff at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
