Volleyball Recap: Legacy Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Legacy Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ursuline Academy Bears. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture on October 8th.

Legacy Christian Academy was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Ursuline Academy work for it, especially in the fourth set. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 22-25, 25-23, 34-32.

Dakota Richard paced Legacy Christian Academy's offense, picking up 25 kills. Richard got some help from Allie Watson and her 53 assists. Logan Burns controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Ursuline Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Carys O'Brien out in front who had five digs and 27 assists. O'Brien has been hot , having posted 13 or more assists the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Elena Montenegro, who had ten digs.

Legacy Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 17-14-1. As for Ursuline Academy, their win bumped their record up to 25-14.

Legacy Christian Academy will challenge Prestonwood Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Prestonwood Christian is coming into the contest with seven straight victories on the road, so Legacy Christian Academy will have to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. As for Ursuline Academy, they will take on Bishop Lynch at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
