Basketball Recap: Elkhart Christian Academy Beats Laville for Their Sixth Straight Win

Elkhart Christian Academy hadn't done well against LaVille recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Elkhart Christian Academy Eagles walked away with a 60-49 win over the LaVille Lancers. Winning may never get old, but the Eagles sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Elkhart Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kyla Yordy, who posted 14 points along with eight assists and eight rebounds. Those eight assists gave Yordy a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ivy Clapsaddle, who went 6 for 11 en route to 19 points and five boards.

Elkhart Christian Academy's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-4. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 29.3% in those games and 19% outside of them. As for LaVille, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-5.

Elkhart Christian Academy and LaVille should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. Elkhart Christian Academy will face off against Trinity Greenlawn at 7:30 p.m. on January 28th up 244 places (129 vs. 373). Meanwhile, LaVille (ranked 138th) will meet New Prairie (ranked 333rd) at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
