Soccer Recap: Hueytown Comes Up Short

Hueytown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Pell City Panthers, falling 10-0. While losing is never fun, the Golden Gophers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama soccer rankings (they are ranked 147th, while the Panthers are ranked 33rd).

Hueytown's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Pell City, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-2-1.

Coming up, Hueytown will square off against Wenonah at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hueytown is facing Wenonah at the right time seeing as Wenonah is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Pell City, they didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Oxford on the 19th.
