Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cary-Grove). They claimed a resounding 56-13 win over the Crystal Lake South Gators. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Trojans' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 160th, while the Gators are ranked 389th).

Logan Abrams was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 91 yards and five touchdowns on only 11 carries. Those five rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high.

Cary-Grove didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Ryan Darby and Jason Ritter Jr..

Cary-Grove's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 14.0 points on average over those games. As for Crystal Lake South, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.
