Basketball Recap: Kendrick Snags 12th Win in Last 14 Games

Kendrick had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They were the clear victor by a 67-42 margin over the Hagerman Pirates on Thursday. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 20 points or more this season.

Despite the defeat, Hagerman saw an underclassman step up: freshman Casen Knight went 6-for-15 en route to 15 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Knight is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last eight games he's played. Another player making a difference was Martin Gonzalez, who shot 42% from the field on his way to 10 points and three steals.

Kendrick is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.1 points over those games. Hagerman's loss dropped their record down to 16-9.

Kendrick wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 66-54 victory against Grace on the 7th. As for Hagerman, they have also already played their next match, a 68-61 defeat against Valley on the 7th.
