Baseball Recap: George Jenkins Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Saturday just wasn't the day for George Jenkins's offense. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gulf Coast Sharks on Saturday. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Sharks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2023.

George Jenkins got a good showing from Junior Jacquez, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave Jacquez a new career-low.

At the plate, Sebastian Phakousonh made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.

George Jenkins' defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-7. As for Gulf Coast, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. George Jenkins will host Ridge Community at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Gulf Coast, they will welcome Bishop Verot at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
